I appreciate your videos. I have got to learn alot from your video illustrations. But just a one point to add from my experience on hydraulic jack is that there is a vent which is opened and closed to purge air in the jack before continuing pressurizing the jack.

I just read it , VIT was introduced by sulzer in 1978.

Kindly help to understand.. it's about Stern tube air seal air pressure......how exactly air pressure of air seal chamber of stern tube is changing as ships draft changing??..... from where and how it is getting idea of draft change to change air chamber air pressure??.. I have checked all part of air control unit but i couldn't get it..... But i observed air seal air pressure as draft change

I got selected and I'm giving my Class IV exams now. Imagine my surprise when I came across this video and your channel! The concepts of hydraulics that you taught me in 2018, stuck with me. Sir i have a doubt, what about the oil on the other half of the actuator, it has to escape back to the tank in order to facilitate smooth movement of ruuder without any hydraulic lock..how is it achieved?
